Hemodyne is headquartered in Richmond, VA and was
incorporated in 1994 by Marcus Carr, MD, PhD, in order to commercialize
his inventions related to platelet assessment. Privately funded, Hemodyne has
successfully emerged from the research and development stage to a
market-focused enterprise launching its first products. Today, Hemodyne
is a medical device company with breakthrough blood-related technology
that dramatically enhances quality of care and reduces costs.
The Company's first product, the Hemostasis Analysis
System (HAS) has just been launched in European markets. The company has established an
impressive array of beta customers in the US and Europe and is poised
to pursue FDA clearance.
Hemodyne has significant discovers and inventions in
wound care that allow the control of severe bleeding episodes. These include the BioHemostat,
a bandage that expands to fill a wound while stopping the loss of arterial
blood. Hemodyne has also
developed a one-handed tourniquet that will help save the lives of
soldiers and law enforcement professionals.
